Fort Meigs Ohio Battlefield of 1812

Hours: Wed-Sat, 9a.m.-5p.m.

Location: 29100 W. River Rd. (OH-65)

Cost: $4-$8

Explore Fort Meigs, battlefield in the war of 1813. Tour guides dressed in historic regalia are available daily, along with special events surrounding trade and goods of the era and even scavenger hunts for the little ones.

 

Toledo Museum of Art

Hours: Daily hours vary, Closed Mondays

Location: 2445 Monroe Street: Toledo, OH

Cost: Free

The Toledo Museum of Art has a collection of over 30,000 works and growing reputation

 

Wildwood Preserve Metro Park

Date: Daily hours 7a.m. until dusk

Location: 5100 West Central Ave

Cost: Free

This park is the former property of a local business executive and is now dedicated to the preservation of Ohio species and wildlife. Walk the wild trails or visit historic homes and place of business in this metro park. Be sure to check out the visitor center for extra information and history.

 

Golfing at Shady Oak Dunes

Date: Open daily

Location: 8205 Fremont Pike

Cost: $10/Walking 9 holes

Shady Oak Dunes is part of the Cross Winds Golf Club in Perrysville. This 9-hole course is a fun, challenging game open to the public daily.

 

Canoe or fish on the Maumee River

Date: Open daily

Location: Orleans Park

Cost: Free

Orleans Park in Perrsyburg is the ideal spot to launch your canoe for a scenic tour of the Maumee or while away the afternoon, fishing on the docks. There are also picnic tables, restrooms, and a short trail along the river for a leisurely walk.
