The Art of Japanese Fashion

When: November 1st

Where: Toledo Museum of Art [2445 Monroe St, Toledo OH]

What: The Art of Japanese Fashion is the first “fashion as art” exhibition to appear in the Community Gallery. In June 2013, the Toledo Museum of Art issued a challenge to clothing designers to unleash their creativity in a Japanese-inspired clothing design contest. Participants could enter in one of two ways: design an original Japanese-inspired garment or by proposing a design for a Japanese-inspired t-shirt. Twenty one fashion pieces will be on display, including garments, T-shirts, head pieces and hair decorations. There will also be some Japanese inspired artworks done by community members in the exhibition.

Family Day

When: November 2nd [12pm-330pm]

Where: Super Suppers [7015 Lighthouse Way Ste 100, Perrysburg OH]

What: Children ages 4+ can come make monthly menu entrees from *12-3:30pm every Saturday of the month. We hope to see you here! *Appointments encouraged to be guaranteed entree availability (especially braided breads) or you can walk in and choose from entrees available to make that day. There are up to 12 entrees each month to make!

Churchill’s Half Marathon

What: The Churchill’s Half Marathon is the second oldest race in Ohio, and one of the oldest half marathons in the country! Sponsored by long-time Toledo Roadrunner, Walt Churchill.

Buddy Valastro: The Cake Boss

What: Join America’s favorite baker, Buddy Valastro, for an all new show of cakes, stories, and fun. Tickets for TLC’s Cake Boss are $25.75/$37.75 plus applicable service charges.

In this live, interactive event, TLC’s Cake Boss will share stories from his highly popular TV shows (Cake Boss, Next Great Baker), his family at Carlo’s Bakery, will answer audience questions, and most importantly, will give lots of live cake & cupcake decorating demonstrations, sharing tips and techniques in a high-energy experience for the whole family.

Lights Before Christmas

Crafts For Christmas

When: November 29th – November 30th [10am-5pm]

Where: Lucas County Rec Center [2901 Key Street, Maumee OH]

What:   It’s here!  The holiday craft show that you’ve been waiting for.  Once again the juried members of the TOLEDO CRAFTSMAN’S GUILD will be sponsoring their ever popular “Crafts for Christmas Show”.  This year the show will be returning to the Lucas County Recreation Center on Key Street in Maumee, Ohio.   This is the largest free holiday craft show in the area.

  Show dates this year are Friday, November 29th with hours from 10:00am until 5:00pm and Saturday, November 30th with hours from 10:00am until 4:00pm.

  Every year the day after Thanksgiving has brought to Toledo the best ever in hand made crafts and holiday decorations ever assembled in the area. You’re buying from the juried craftsmen and artists themselves, no imports are sold here. Some of the hand crafted items that may be available include: jewelry, wooden items, baskets, metal work, dried and floral decorations, incense, soaps and lotions;  tole and decorative painting, sweats, country crafts, dolls,  doll clothing, paper, fabrics of all kinds, holiday wreaths and decorations, yard art and lots more too numerous to mention.  The Recreation Center Hall will be filled with so many quality items that you will have to be there to see all that is available.  In addition, if you can’t find what you want, many of the members will fill special orders for you.

This Toledo Craftsman’s Guild show is the largest FREE holiday craft show of the season with no admission charge, there is also plenty of FREE parking sponsored by the Craftsmen’s Guild.   Be sure to register to win free gift certificates.  Join us for your holiday shopping!

Kalamazoo Circus Maxiumus Toy Show

When: November 30th [9am-2pm]

Where: Kalamazoo County Fair Grounds

What: Don’t miss the Largest Antique Toy & Collectible Show in the Midwest the Kalamazoo Circus Maximus Toy Show. Held at the Kalamazoo County Fairgrounds. Conveniently situated halfway between Detroit and Chicago, or Grand Rapids and South Bend, IN. Nearly 50,000 square feet of toys from over 200 vendors around the country will be here for you to explore. You will find your favorite childhood toys including but not limited to; & Plastic Models Kits, Japanese pressed tin litho, cast iron banks, steel pedal cars, Smith Miller & Tonka trucks, old robots and science fiction items, battery operated toys, cap guns, western toys, and more. For the younger collectors, there is a lot to see from Disney, Star Trek, Star Wars, G I Joe, slot cars, movie, TV and sport memorabilia, and action figures of all kinds, You will also find antique pedal cars and tractors along with spare parts. 9 AM to 2 PM Adults $6 Under 12 free.
