INDEPENDENCE DAY 1813

 

When: July 4, 2013

Where: Fort Meigs, 29100 W. River Road

Details: July 4, 1813 was celebrated with cannon firings, toasts, music, and a day of leisure at Fort Meigs. War of 1812 soldiers and civilians will recreate this day through cannon firings, demonstrations, and hands-on activities for children. The highlight of the day is the eighteen-gun National Salute accompanied by toasts and fife and drum music starting at 2 p.m.

Farmers Market

 

When: July 4, 2013 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Where: Downtown Perrysburg

Details: Join local farmers and merchants as they set up their booths to sell their produce and products. There will be Music at the Market Concert Series from June 6 through August 22 at 7 pm at the Commodore Square (140 E. Indiana Ave.). Visit www.perrysburg-farmers-market.com for more information.

SAND-TASTIC!

 

When:  June 28 – 29, 2013 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Where: Levis Commons, 3201 Levis Commons Blvd\

Details: Be amazed as Chad Hartson and his team from Ice Creations bring to life four 8-ton sand sculptures on the boulevard at Levis Commons. Stop by for an hour or three and watch as piles of sand turn into works of art. A community sandbox will be open with shovels, pails and all the tools necessary to make your own masterpiece. Bring your family, friends and neighbors- this sandbox is big enough for everyone you know! 1:00 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. – Chad and his team will provide hands on demonstrations in the community sandbox, so you can learn how to sculpt like a pro.
